Must Do Dewey’s.

deweys pizza in KirkwoodI love good pizza!  Hey, who doesn’t?  Did you know it was created here in the good ole USA?

It was and I’m here to tell ya that Dewey’s Pizza may be THE tastiest pizza in St. Louis.  Now I know that everyone has their favorites so if you have not tried Dewey’s Pizza, then make plans to try it out.

Dewey’s Pizza steps totally out of the pizza box with delicious combinations like my favorite, The Green Lantern, made with red sauce, light mozzarella, minced garlic, mushrooms, goat cheese, artichokes and pesto.  This seriously just melts in your mouth and totally wakes up those taste buds! They have over a dozen specialty pizzas like this one or  you can make your own from Dewey’s regular and gourmet items.  They have dee-lish cold crisp salads too. My fave is the peppercorn ranch with romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, shaved Parmesan, red onion and crispy bacon.

deweys pizza restaurant sign in kirkwoodDewey’s offers a small but very good selection of specialty beers on tap and wine.  Try the Hess Cabernet with the Bronx Bomber or Edgar Allan Poe pizza.

The atmosphere is open, fun and friendly.  The staff works as a team and everyone is in a good mood.  Dewey’s is in three cool neighborhood locations, University City,  kirkwood and  Ellisville,   so do yourself and some friends a favor and do Dewey’s Pizza soon.

Cheers!

Nobody like Nobu

sushi

I have to admit that I am a sushi freak-a-zoid, I can’t get enough of the mouthwatering stuff.  BK (Before kids) I was eating sushi 2-3 times a week for years, I truly craved it.  I have lived in St. Louis for fourteen years and still have not found better sushi than what I get at Nobu’s Japanese Restaurant.

Nobu is usually preparing and cutting fish behind the sushi bar and always has a smile upon his face as you enter, as does his friendly staff.  His fish is always fresh and if he can’t get the freshest then he doesn’t order it.  There have been many times that I suffered without my beloved toro but Continue reading Nobody like Nobu

Tuscany trip to Brio

Brio Tuscan Grille

Brio Tuscan Grille

I was just finishing my savvy shopping at Landau Jewelry shop at Frontinac Plaza when I heard my tummy rumble.  I decided to treat myself to lunch in Italy.  I adore Italy  and their fabulous food and wine.  Since Italy is not in walking distance from Frontinac Plaza I shuffled over to the next best thing, Brio Tuscan Grille.

Brio is an absolutely beautiful restaurant inside and out.  The decor and menu is all about Tuscany!  There is almost always a lunch rush but it was 1:30pm so I was seated right awsay at a lovely corner table.  Brio was still buzzing with the end of the lunch madness so the staff looked a bit stressed and little fun or smiles going on at first.  The crowd, however, looked to be enjoying themselves immensely.  There were business, girls getaway, birthday celebration and Moms  with little ones lunches.  The outside tables were full and there were a few at the bar for the bar lunch.

The many menu  selections are so yummy that I always have a hard time deciding what to order.  This is a problem that I have no problem with.   Choices of apps, bruschetta and flatbreads, salads and soups, paninis and sandwiches, pasta and specials will keep you coming back. Brio’s kid’s menu is even good with the foucus being on Tuscan pasta dishes and pizzas baked in their wood-burning oven.

Dinner at Brio starts at 4pm and offers many lunch choices plus more specials, steak dishes and a variety of grilled meats.  The wine list is ok but this is a corporate chain so decisions are most likely made outside St. Louis.  Brio’s also offers Brunch on Saturday and Sundays until 3pm.  I have this on my to try list so will let you know.  Lastly, Brio’s has a family style Pans-to-go deal where they offer different pans of pasta, salads, specialties and desert that you can call your own for a pricey price.

I love Brio when I’m not in Tuscany so take that trip soon to one or the other.

Buon Appetito!

Peace, Love and cups of Joe with Jesus

I can’t say that I have yet witnessed a Jesus sighting at Solid Rock Kaffee Haus in Eureka but it is always peaceful, warm and filled with heavenly aromas.

This quaint little place serves up a wonderful  breakfast and lunch.  It is a comfy spot where you will see many locals sipping incredible coffee and dining on creative, fresh and dee-lish food.

Solid Rock Kaffee Haus is owned and run by a lovely Christian lady named Melody. This great little find is filled with a gentle  spirit where the service and feel of the place is divine.   Stop in for a bite, a smile and who knows who will show up for that heavenly cup A Joe.

Enjoy life!  Eat out!  No dishes!

robustI am serious you must go to Robust! I have been there a few times and have always had a good experience. I am Ga-Ga about wine and it is good to see a restaurant as passionate about wine as this cork dork is. This relatively new hot spot is jumpin with a fun crowd, Great food and one of the best wine programs in St. Louis.

Robust specializes in tapas and wine-oriented food and atmosphere. Not only do they have food and wine but a wine and gift shoppe to boot. Sippin and shoppin are always on this gal’s list of top things to do. Robust offers the robust royalty exclusive wine club Continue reading We Must We Must We must go to Robust!
